Blog Pick of the Week: We Salute You
"Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort." –Paul J. Meyer
This Blog by Anthony Iannarino captures that philosophy exactly from the Salesperson's perspective. As a procurement professionally, it applies as well.
I know when I am doing a home improvement project, so much of the work is the prep time. I would love to just start painting but 90% of the job is the cleaning, sanding, furniture moving, etc. The same can be true when meeting with suppliers. How much time is spent on your side getting ready for those interactions?
As you read further down in Anthony's blog, , it offers several questions that really prod at how prepared you are for your interactions with suppliers during the sourcing process. Here are two for starters but check out the blog.
What are you getting right?
Are you ready for your discussions, have you determined your BATNA? Are you rested and on time?
What are you getting mostly right?
Are there issues that should be further understood prior to your meetings? Do you include the proper team members?
Let us know what you think and any ideas you may have about making the most of these meetings. As Ben Franklin said: "Time is Money!!"
