How to have happy customers

As another year comes to a close, we are often reflective of where we are and where we should be. We tend to do that both professionally and personally.

I came across this video from a 9-year old “20 things we should say more often” and it seemed appropriate for the season. It has some thought provoking reminders as well as some that will make you smile.

If you watch this 3 minute video, it may give you some ideas on how you want to engage with your associates, your suppliers and customers. How about your family, friends and neighbors?

One of his points is the ability to say nothing. Sometimes that really is the best option. We often are so busy giving our opinion or ideas when really it would be better to just be quiet. Maybe listening is much more important at that moment.

Several others included “I am sorry”, “Thank You” and “Excuse Me”.

Let’s just work on one of those such as saying thank you to your customers which cannot be overrated. Demonstrating sincere appreciation can develop long term loyalty which translates into long term purchases. Ten ways to make customers fall in love with your business is a blog by KISSmetrics and reinforces that message. Wouldn’t you be thrilled to have customers that were raving fans? “Do what you do so well that they will want to see it again and bring their friends.”
