Tips for Improving Procurement Relationships
Trust Is not easily come by and once lost, very hard to earn back. We gain trust by having good experiences with others and showing them we will do what we say we are going to do, when we said we would do it.
In procurement, we are often removed from our customers and stakeholders. We rely a great deal on email, which can be misunderstood. It is hard to build relationships that way. The personal interaction is key. I often will coach others to ‘pick up the phone’ so you can have a dialog and then hear each other’s tone of voice.
