Good Better Best
I remember this childhood saying “Good, Better, Best. Never let it rest. Until the good is better and the better best”.
The message is clear. Keep trying and continue to make adjustments along the way. That can be applied to so many things: cooking, learning the play the piano, mastering Excel or PowerPoint, writing procurement contracts. The list can go on forever.
Last year, I tried a training program called “the couch to 5k”. It was a 3 month program to get me off the couch, walking, jogging and eventually able to run in a 5K race. It was a perfect example of getting better all the time little by little. I made adjustment along the way to my route, my equipment, time of day to exercise, amount of stretching to warm up and of course the amount of water to consumer before, during and after the workout.
This week’s eSourcing Wiki article is: Implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility Part 3.
It discusses evaluating your current CSR program, making improvements and revising the direction where needed. Keep reviewing and improving over time.
In our roles of procurement and sustainability, we are consistently looking for new areas to save money, resources, and carbon footprint reduction. What do you do to enhance the process? Has your organization moved from good to better to best?
