Why are some organizations able to quickly bounce back following a catastrophe while others struggle, fail to recover, and even disappear?

The answer, says Professor Yvette Mucharraz y Cano, is organizational resilience.

In her HBR article, How Businesses Can Brace for Catastrophe, written before the pandemic had fully halted the economy, Mucharraz, a professor at Ipade Business School, wrote “Post-disaster resilience is an adaptive capacity to grow and develop that does not occur by chance.”

On September 30, 2020, in a live, interactive Harvard Business Review webinar, Mucharraz will share insights into how organizations can prepare for unforeseen catastrophes, and how to develop the capacity to thrive in the aftermath of a disaster. In addition, she will present:

  • The differences between organizations that have survived catastrophes and those that have not
  • The three key stages of dealing with catastrophes: anticipation, coping, and adaption
  • Steps companies have taken to prepare for catastrophes
  • Organizations that have emerged from catastrophes quickly and successfully

Few topics are more relevant today than organizational resilience and surviving a catastrophe. To learn the keys to organizational resilience and to prepare your organization to overcome current and future catastrophes, join Yvette Mucharraz y Cano and HBR on September 30.
