This week is ridiculously busy – there are 15 webinars taking place: five on Tuesday, one on Wednesday, and NINE on Thursday. Given the wide range of choices, it wasn’t easy to pick the best ones, but my recommendations are below. I’m really looking forward to this event – which promises to be a fast-paced, compelling 30 minutes with Procurious founder Tania Seary. She’ll address the major forces having an impact on the field of procurement, how they are challenging us, and what we should be prepared to do in response. As you might expect, deliberate use of social media is a core part of the recommendations Seary will make. With shifts starting to be seen in the traditional conference/association models, resources like LinkedIn and Procurious are poised to grow in importance, but will the procurement community seize the opportunity?

Although there aren’t a lot of details to this webinar’s description, more than the average amount of work went into collecting the content that will be shared in this event. Lora Cecere and the Supply Chain Insights team will share some of the most interesting insights that came to light in their Global Summit, including “advanced analytics, robotics, visualization, and more.” Since the description does mention stories, hopefully these trends will be shared in the form of real case studies as opposed to just theory.

Although strategic sourcing is almost synonymous with procurement, it doesn’t often get the level of focus that it deserves. In this webinar, Andrew Bartolini will share the results of recent Ardent Partners research into “the pressures and challenges facing sourcing leaders, today, as well as the strategies, capabilities, and technologies that they are bringing to bear in their battle to reduce costs, improve quality, and manage risk.” The combination of Ardent’s supplier focus and LexisNexis being listed as the event sponsor give me high hopes that there will be a supply market intelligence component to the “actionable recommendations” promised in the event description.
