Webinar Recommendations for August 17 - 21, 2015: RPA is Here to Stay, Supply Chain Index Update, Why Due Diligence Matters

This week there are seven webinars being run, and I’ve taken the opportunity to recommend three on topics that are very different from each other while all still providing access to compelling thought leadership. Click on the title of each event below to view the full description in our events calendar and connect to their registration pages.

The End of Outsourcing? RPA is Here to Stay (IRPA)

8/18, 12pm EDT

On June 5th, I first covered a webinar on Robotic Process Automation – the technology based approach to outsourcing that programs ‘robots’ to complete tasks rather than completing them in house or through outsourced human providers. This week, the Institute for Robotic Process Automation (IRPA) will continue to share and discuss chapters from their ebook, specifically addressing the reasons why outsourcing as we have known it is a thing of the past, and why RPA is more than just a passing fad.

The 2015 Supply Chain Index (Supply Chain Insights)

8/20, 11am EDT

The Supply Chain Index is a ranking of supply chains through the use of quantitative metrics and financial data. It was created and is maintained by Supply Chain Insights, founded by Lora Cecere. I have been to other webinars on the Supply Chain Index and they are fascinating (if brain stretching) in their ability to capture the relative performance of supply chains by company and industry. In this webinar, hopefully we will also get some trend information and an opportunity to see what the Index reveals about true supply chain leadership over time.

Why Due Diligence Matters: How Third Parties Increase Compliance Risk for Global Businesses (SIG, Lexis Nexis)

8/20, 2pm EDT

There is no such thing as too much understanding of risk, especially when your supply chain is global or a significant percentage of your revenue goes back out in payment to suppliers. In this event, Lexis Nexis will share best practices, a look into the best types of information for due diligence, and the results and improvements we can expect to realize in return.
