Risk...Not Just Your Risk Officer's Job (Sig Town Hall Teleconference)

I’ll start my recommendations for the week with Sourcing Industry Group’s July town hall teleconference. These events are member-side only, non-promotional, and not recorded. One of the unique things this allows is an open floor audio exchange, where questions are asked live on the phone rather than being submitted via a Q&A panel. This month’s town hall leader is Dawn Evans, SIG’s CEO. Just as purchasing activity is more distributed in the enterprise than ever, so too is risk management being taken on by all employees in all functions. Asserting your Rights to SAP eSourcing on Demand and CLM in the Cloud. No Pain and Plenty to Gain (Hubwoo)

SAP has announced that they plan to discontinue their eSourcing on Demand (or eSoD) offering by the end of 2015. This leaves users of that solution with some decisions to make, not to mention a transition. In this webinar, Spend Matters and Hubwoo will discuss options for maintaining flexibility and security at the same time. We will also hear from Royal National Lifeboat Institution, who has already made the transition away from eSoD.

You’ve probably heard of category playbooks – well, in this webinar legal software pioneer Mark Lauritsen will talk about contract playbooks. They embody preferred terms and texts, including acceptable fall-back alternatives and recommended processes for settling business deals. They are rich sources of knowledge and guidance. One of the challenges of all kinds of playbooks is their implied expiration and the time required to maintain them. Lauritsen will discuss how to make sure playbooks contain intelligence as well as information and are as dynamic as possible.
