Targets were not just set for cost reduction, but for building global alliances, driving innovation projects via suppliers and reducing CO2 emissions.
DSM realized that to achieve company targets in today's economic climate, walls had to be torn down, both internally and externally. They also understood that they had to scale, by leveraging suppliers in new ways and freeing capacity through automation. Success could not be achieved with the siloed approach often permeating organizations.
