The resourcing of contingent labour is increasingly a strategic decision that exists to help organisations meet customer needs while providing a competitive advantage.

The workforce is both the greatest expense and the greatest asset an organisation has. So it follows that if procurement and HR work together, they could better manage this hugely important and complex resource.

In order for the relationship between procurement and HR to flourish and add real business value, each team must understand how to unlock value from one another. It could be by generating efficiencies, the more effective acquisition of talent or the purchase of HR-related services such as benefits, healthcare insurance or employee assistance schemes.
