It used to be that skilled planners worked single-site operations with infinite capacity models in order to meet customer expectations profitably. Those days are numbered. Supply networks are global and complex. Multi-nodal optimization is now a competitive requirement. Better data mitigates supply chain error propagation and ensures data-fed tools contribute value upstream and down.

Tomorrow’s tools rely on high-integrity data to ensure proposals and options are ‘realistic’. Expanded data requirements (beyond MRP requirements) include optimization criteria – where the data gets quite granular, as in cost of inventory, transportation, and network risk.

During this webinar, David Goddard and Bob Howard of Oliver Wight Americas, along with Roger Thomas of SAS Institute, discuss the complexities of this topic and the higher expectations in today’s manufacturing environment.

What you will learn:

  • Why data standards and expectations have changed
  • How to fix existing data sources and manage around those beyond fixing
  • What is the promise of Advanced Planning systems once data is accurate
  • Utilizing analytics to zero in on data errors
  • Enhancing/optimizing your business enabling processes
