Since 2020, procurement and supply chain professionals have faced an unprecedented set of challenges. The pandemic was just the start. It was followed by port blockages and congestion, strikes among truck drivers and railway workers, a major recall and plant closure that led to a disastrous baby formula shortage, concerns about the future of semiconductor availability, turbulence in the ESG investment market, and much more.
If those disruptive forces weren’t enough to make our jobs harder, the economy has faced headwinds as well. Global inflation is at record highs and the Great Resignation has given way to the Great Reshuffling, leading to uncertainty in talent markets. What will 2023 bring? Time will tell, but it is unlikely to be a return to the pre-pandemic normal.
In this webinar, join Kelly Barner, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Buyers Meeting Point, Head of Content and Brand Partnerships at Art of Procurement, and Host of the Dial P for Procurement podcast on Supply Chain Now, as she considers the most pressing challenges of the day, looking for lessons we can learn to bolster agility and resilience in the future. In particular, she will focus on:
- Why procurement and supply chain professionals need to stay on top of the news - but not entirely be guided by it
- How to let current disruptions influence - but not confine - forward-looking risk mitigation strategies
- How to balance short-term firefighting with longer-term planning
