Everyday hundreds of organizations conduct competitive bids to choose the best supplier to meet their needs. But far too often organizations are applying “Best Practice” RFP processes rather than a “Best Fit” solution. Using the wrong tool for the wrong job can result in selecting the wrong supplier or developing a contract that is misaligned with the organization’s objectives. Simply put, using the wrong competitive bidding method is like putting a square peg in a round hole. Forcing it to fit is myopic and inefficient. University of Tennessee researchers began exploring competitive bidding methods in 2012. The research led to two white papers on collaborative bidding processes. This webinar is the perfect blend of theory and practice. UT faculty member Kate Vitasek will highlight their research and share how Vancouver Coastal Health - a government health care agency - put UT’s theories into practice to transform how they approached complex sourcing initiatives.
