Times have changed. So has your procurement organization. And so have technology and services markets. But why are you buying technology the same way you did 10 years ago?
In the good old days (which were never that good), these were some of your guidelines:
- Describe your wish list of everything you might use with your new software. Wrong.
- Get your requirements right – you've only got one shot at this. Wrong.
- Solutions are just tools – don't expect a software provider to solve your problems. Wrong.
- Don't ever be the first customer for new functionality. Wrong.
- Never let providers influence your requirements. Wrong.
- You have to make a grim choice between “safe” ERP and “innovative” best of breed. Wrong.
If you follow the old thinking and guidelines, you'll get exactly the same results you got before. And that’s just plain wrong.
In this webcast, we'll describe why traditional approaches don’t work anymore. More importantly, we’ll share emerging tactics that more progressive organizations are leveraging to select the right providers for them. We'll show how to reduce TCO, prevent vendor lock-in, get short-term success, and select a select a provider more aligned to your long-term interest than their own short-term revenue goals.
