Business ethics is the application of ethical values to business behaviour. It goes beyond the legal requirements for a company and is, therefore, about discretionary decisions and behaviour guided by values. It is relevant both to the conduct of the organisation and the conduct of employees. Most employees experience business ethics through a dilemma. Ethical dilemmas make individuals think about their obligations, duties and responsibilities and can be highly complex and difficult to resolve. Complex ethical dilemmas go beyond the two basic questions: ‘is it legal?’ and ‘is it consistent with the company's code of business ethics?’ and involve decisions between right and right.
