Recommended Procurement Webinars for August 28-September 1: Automation, Transparency, and Planning for Tomorrow
This week all three of my recommended webinars have a futuristic angle to them. Rather than being intimidated by the newness and uncharted territory, jump in and learn as much as you can! Click on the title of the webinar below to view the full description and register.

Cognitive Future of Procurement: A Roadmap For Your Automation Journey (EdgeVerve, ProcureCon)
August 29th 1pm ET
I love Robotic Process Automation (RPA) in general for its potential to change the way procurement fulfills service category requirements. The description for this webinar uses a great visual to characterize that potential. In the past, procurement has looked at transformation as a linear progression – in other words, increasing at a steady rate. RPA, on the other hand, gives us the opportunity to push value expansion at an exponential rate instead.
Creating Transparency in the Supply Chain to Reduce Risk (BravoSolution)
August 29th, 2pm ET
We all know that we must increase visibility multiple tiers into the supply chain – especially in categories and geographies where human rights violations are of particular concern. In this webinar, Dr. Robert Handfield (The LIVING Supply Chain) will talk about his ‘federated’ approach to supply chain management, which includes taking an altered approach to managing small higher risk suppliers.
Guarding Your Tomorrow (ISM, SAP Ariba)
August 30th, 12n ET
This webinar takes a different approach to risk – instead of looking at managing upstream supplier risk, SAP Ariba will talk about mitigating the impact that risk has on customers. Key to their recommendations will be the use of risk technology and proper setting of risk thresholds to ensure that mitigation and action plans kick in when they need to for the sake of customers, not just supply chain continuity.
