Best Procurement and Supply Chain Webinars 5/9 - 13

In addition to the events below, I am the speaker at the May SIG Townhall Teleconference, taking place this Wednesday at 1pm ET. I’ll be talking about Supply Market Intelligence in the ‘Real World.’ Click here to learn more about the event and to register. (Buy side only attendees, please.) As to my other recommendations, click on the title of each event below to view the full description in our events calendar and to connect to their registration pages.

How Procurement Creates Value Beyond Cost Savings (SIG, Denali)

May 10th, 11am ET

Procurement may spend a lot of time talking about the need to create value, but if we were successful, how would we measure it? In dollars? Time? Buckets? Furlongs? In this webinar, Denali will talk about the many ways procurement is generating added value - Category Management, Risk Management, Early Involvement in Sales and R&D – and how we can make sure that we track that impact in a way that even Finance will agree and sign off on our claims.

Spend Analytics: How to Get More and Unlock Sustainable Cost Savings (BravoSolution, ProcureCon)

May 10th, 12pm ET

If the previous webinar recommendation is about measuring value created, this event focuses specifically on the value that can be derived from spend analytics. More importantly, this is not going to be an event about technology so much as it is about the processes that leverage it. If gaining visibility is the first step to value, leveraging it is the second. By identifying trends, monitoring compliance, and watching for fraud, procurement can use spend analytics to create a whole new source of advantage.

Avoid a Risk Knowledge Gap with Better Due Diligence (SIG, LexisNexis)

May 12th, 11am ET

I talk all the time about how it is possible to create perfectly good supply market intelligence with access to nothing more than the Internet. While that is true (or I wouldn’t say it) a little investment in the right places can make a measurable difference. Whether it is LexisNexis or one of their competitors, procurement should evaluate all-purpose fee for use information resources to decide if the benefits can outweigh the cost.
