Recommended Procurement Webinars Oct 5-9: Sourcing Maturity, Risk, and More Risk

AdobeStock_riskblocks

There are two very exciting ‘live’ events taking place this week – both of which I am proud to be involved in,,,

  1.  NESCON is taking place Oct 5-7 and features a very special keynote speaker: General (Ret.) Stanley A. McChrystal. McChrystal is a transformational leader with a remarkable record of achievement both on and off the battlefield.
  2. Art of Procurement’s #MastermindLIVE is running on Oct 6 & 7 and features a wide, impressive array of speakers from inside and out of procurement. Not since Philip Ideson and I marshalled The Procurement Revolution in 2016 has there been an event quite like the one we are hosting this week.

If you are planning your procurement webinar schedule beyond this week, I recommend “Building lasting supplier diversity programs” from Fairmarkit and Supplier.io and featuring speakers from MIT, Salesforce, Delta Air Lines, and The Coca-Cola Company.

BTW: If you haven’t already, sign up for our mailing list to be sure you get my weekly recommendations in your inbox each Monday.

Addressing the Risks of Macroeconomic Disruptions (Spend Matters, JAGGAER)

October 6th, 10am ET

In all honesty, I find the idea of the COVID-19 pandemic as ‘just another macroeconomic disruption’ somewhat comforting. It helps me go back and find ways to apply previous experience and training if I don’t think of our current situation as a hundred-year crisis. In this webinar, JAGGAER CEO Jim Bureau and Spend Matters’ VP of European Research and Lead Analyst Magnus Bergfors will answer audience questions about risk mitigation, response, and technology.

Supply Chain Risk Report: the latest EventWatch data and updates (Resilinc)

October 8th, 1pm ET

Speaking of risk… Resilinc will share recent data from their AI platform about how companies are leveraging technology to prepare for COVID’s second wave and this year’s hurricane season. Featuring: Resilinc’s Director of Operations, Shahzaib Khan, and Director of Product Management, Sandeep Ramachandran.

Addressing the Maturity Gaps in Procurement: Approaches to Improved Sourcing Efficiency & Effectiveness (Corcentric, The Hackett Group)

October 8th, 2pm ET

According to this event’s description, “as many as 75% of procurement organizations have difficulty addressing unplanned sourcing events.” (Source: The Hackett Group) Juxtapose that reality with a year that is almost entirely unplanned, and you’re not looking at an easy layup for procurement. In this event, speakers from Corcentric and Hackett will discuss how procurement can achieve a better breakdown of time between tactical sourcing and real strategic – or unplanned – sourcing.
